	Plan Peisey (1650 metres) Plan Peisey, Les Arcs is the departure point for the Vanoise Express cable car that links la Plagne and les Arcs to form the massive Paradiski ski area. Skiing and snowboarding access is superb. The village has a number of catered ski chalets operated by British tour operators. There are just a couple of hotels, the best of which would be the Hotel Vanoise although it does not have many features ski access is superb, the food is good and the hotel comfortable. There is also a reasonable selection of self-catering apartments available. Ski & Snowboard Access: Skiing and snowboarding access is excellent. There is a fast 6-seater chairlift that runs from the middle of Plan Peisey as well as the Vanoise Express that links les Arcs with la Plagne. The best catered ski chalets in les Arcs are run by Ski Beat who also offer childcare either in their own creche; as afternoon only care or with a private nanny. Ski apartments, hotels and other ski chalets are available through the specialist ski travel agent Snow Hounds. The biggest selection of ski apartments in Les Arcs is probably available in Les Arcs 1800: Apres Ski: Plan Peisey nightlife is limited to just a few bars and restaurants, there is a bit more going on in Vallandry. Chez Felix is a lovely restaurant by the side of the main road just before you leave Plan Peisey. It has superb views down the valley and great for fondues, raclettes etc. L'Armoise is on other side of the road to Chez Feliz, almost opposite. The food is generally very good although the restaurant is not very spacious. The food in the Hotel Vanoise is generally excellent. Salom bar is by the Vanoise Express that links les Arcs and la Plagne and is a great lunch spot particulary as it has deck chairs outside. It has plenty of outdoor seating with a seperate Pizzeria area to eat in or take away. The flying squirrel bar is the only English run bar in Plan Peisey and therefore very popular, it has a TV showing sporting events and offers Mexican food and unusual sounding shots for anyone who dares! You can go outside and onto the small balcony out the back of the bar to admire the views, quite a good little sun trap. Shiva Bar is close to Ski Beat's cluster of 5 chalets, very French but nice for an aperitif if staying nearby. For a touch of relaxation after a day of skiing or snowboarding around les Arcs there is a mobile massage service in Plan Peisey & Vallandry. Massage Me's therapist will come to your ski chalet to provide that extra bit of holiday pampering that you are after. Ski Schools: The ESF in Plan Peisey is generally very good; with plenty of English speakers although service standards occasionally slip during French holidays, group sizes and prices do not! The ESF meets next to the chairlift out of the village and the Vanoise Express. The independent ski school New Generation operates from neighbouring Vallandry, group numbers are lower, prices higher. Hire Shops: There are three ski hire shops in the village of Plan Peisey.
